We saw this place two doors down from last week's Raj on Taj review, and I thought hey, what a lazy way to organise the next weeks event! Similar in size, and perhaps just as appealing from the shop front, The Royal Tandoori seemed to be a fair contestant. This place doesn't seem to be well advertised, it took me ages to find a phone number, and there are no reviews on the net either. As you can see from this photo the interior looked OK in small sections, but on closer inspection it was very tacky and cheap. Perhaps the curries would be better...

I can't remember the name of this dish, and for good reason too. It had fruit and nuts in it, was very mild, and it was sweet. The only problem was that the next day I attracted some kind of stomach sickness and for half the day I was in bed, not good for the long weekend. I can safely say this place isn't going to get very good marks for quality. Service was very slow, and were not very friendly, a total backflip from the Raj on Taj last week. Can't complain about pricing though, with each of us spending under $20 including naan breads, rice and pappadums but mains were tiny! Bad experience for me, hopefully the other lads weren't sore...

Service: 4.4/10 -Slow, unlively, even slow for drinks.
Quality: 3.8/10 -Tasted good at the time, not so good in effect the next day.
Atmosphere: 4.1/10 -Tacky and cheap looks, wasn't very popular either.
Value: 5.2/10 -Not too bad, but mains were tiny, I guess to suit the price.

Another edition of the chili roulette, with yet another addition to the team, Erin! I should put a frowny face after her name, as she was the only one to get her number up for a chili... and she refused to eat a piece, even though the chili's were not hot at all. I also blame Nathan for this non-event and he shall be punished according to group concensus...
