The location of this place I think used to be a failed chinese restaurant, now replaced with a quiet indian venue. Apparantly the carpark out the back gets locked up, on one side only, which defeats the purpose of locking up a carpark. Anyways, a big crowd again tonight, with many new faces which is good to see, and I'm more than happy to spread the love! On the special menu was kangaroo and goat so I just had to feast on one of them...

Kangaroo Curry

That's right, one of our favourite Aussie icons, brewed in an unnamed flavour curry. I like trying new foods, and this is the first time I have seen a kangaroo curry even though the meat is readily available everywhere. Most people expect kangaroo to be quite gamey or very tough, but in a curry stewed for hours, everything turns out perfect. The sauce was mildly hot and very smooth and slick, lots of spice flavour to balance too. Service was great, high points for napkin-in-lap and free pappadums, not to mention great presentation in terms of curry dishes. Only downfall was the drinks prices, but otherwise a neat and clean eatery, and just below average pricing. Interesting statues too...and thanks to Glen for his guest review!

Laxmi's Special Chicken

With this reviewer's inexperienced palette for curry, the obvious choice was to go with the house special. In this case, it was Laxmi's Special Chicken. And to be honest, it was quite special. First thing that hit me was the sight of green peas along with some very tasty feta cheese. The chicken was tender, quite mild in spice and I felt it could do with a touch more kick, however the peas and feta topped it off quite nicely though. The rice was plentiful and mixed with the curry beautifully. The garlic naan was a more standard affair than last week's, and as expected, offered a good addition to the taste sensations. Service was especially good, easy to get the attention of but not in the way, just how the hosts should be. All in all, a very pleasant evening and a highly recommended restaurant.
